14 weeks and 3 days
The first trimester is officially over which is when lots of ladies celebrate. That usually means no more nausea or morning sickness, a boost of energy, and not many food aversions. To me it doesn't feel too different. I didn't have any of those nasty things except for indigestion and from what I understand, that will only get worse. We went to the doctor today and it was a really good appointment. It turns out that I haven't gained one pound during the pregnancy! That is awesome news to me because I struggle so badly with weight. I just knew I was going to get in trouble for gaining too much and I was very pleasantly surprised when she said otherwise. I even think I'm showing a little bit which confuses me a little bit about the non weight gain. I'm actually ready to be full fledged showing so that I don't just look bigger. More good news that she told me was that my baby will definitely not have cystic fibrosis. We ended up declining the quad screen blood work after a lot of deliberation and thought put into it. If we would have decided to have that done, it would have been done at today's appointment. Since we didn't do it, today's appointment was just listening to the heartbeat, visiting with the doctor, and scheduling our sonogram to tell the sex! We have it scheduled for August the 9th and we are so excited! I can't wait! Right now the baby is the size of a naval orange - about 4.5 inches long! We have 25 weeks and 4 days to go!
